A LITTLE ABOUT THE OAK WE USE

PORT KEGS

TRADITIONAL:

The oak has previously been used in the wine industry for a minimum of 5 years. The outer surface of the wood is freshly sanded, lightly stained and varnished. 
All our kegs come with black painted hoops matching cradle, silicon bung and brass tap. 

RUSTIC:
The oak has previously been used in the fortified industry for a minimum of 50 years. The outer surface of the wood is left in its original state.  All our kegs come with black painted hoops matching cradle, silicon bung and brass tap.

SPIRIT KEGS

Made in Traditional Oak, the Spirit Keg looks the same as the Traditional Port Keg, however the wood may be treated differently in its construction to enhance the different flavours in the spirit intended for storage.

If you intend to use your keg for flavouring/mellowing spirits, please let us know at the time of ordering the type of spirit you intend to put into the keg, so charring can be adjusted at time of manufacturing.  All our kegs come with black painted hoops matching cradle, silicon bung and brass tap.

VINEGAR KEGS

Made in Traditional Oak, the Vinegar Keg, like the Spirit Keg, looks the same as the Traditional Port Keg but has a larger bung hole to help better oxidation of the wine.  All our kegs come with black painted hoops matching cradle, silicon bung and brass tap.
